Day 14
Day 14: Somatic Healing: Where Your Body Stores Shame
“Your shoulders aren’t tight—they’re carrying the weight of everyone’s emotions.”
Let’s break down how your body stores emotions:
Trauma triggers fight-or-flight mode, locking tension in your muscles.
Unexpressed emotions (e.g., shame, fear) manifest as physical symptoms (e.g., tight shoulders, shallow breath). Gentle practices to release stored emotions and reset your nervous system.
It reduces anxiety and guilt by calming your nervous system.
It builds body awareness, so you notice when you’re triggered.
It empowers you to respond, not react, in stressful situations.
Your workbook today makes this simple and accessible.”
Your mission today is to try :
Stand barefoot, feel the floor, and breathe deeply for 1 minute.
Shake your arms, legs, and torso to release tension.
Close your eyes and notice where you’re holding stress.
Journal: Journal on some or all of the emotional socratic questions
This isn’t about fixing—it’s about noticing and releasing. You might feel emotions rise… and that’s okay. Healing isn’t tidy.
