Day 20
Day 20: Building Your Support System: How to Ask for Help
“Isolation fuels codependency—but community is your antidote.”
Let’s break down how to build your support system:
Identify Safe People: Who listens without judgment? Who respects your boundaries?
Diversify Your Circle: Include friends, family, mentors, and professionals (e.g., therapists, coaches).
Practice Asking: Start small (e.g., ‘Can I vent for 10 minutes?’) and build from there.
Why It Works:
It reduces isolation, a key trigger for codependency.
It builds trust in yourself and others.
It creates a safety net for tough times.

Day 20
Assignment Notice
Your mission today is to create your Support System Map. Use your workbook to:
List 3–5 Safe People: Include their names and how they can support you (e.g., listening, advice, practical help).
Reach Out: Send a text or call one person: ‘I’m working on building my support system. Can I count on you?’
Track Wins: Note how it feels to ask for help—guilt, relief, or both.
This isn’t about perfection—it’s about practice. You might feel vulnerable… and that’s okay. Vulnerability is where connection begins.
Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate your growth. But today, celebrate this: You’re no longer alone. You’re building a circle of care.
Remember: You deserve support, just as much as you give it. And I’m so proud of you. See you tomorrow!
