Day 9
Day 9: Scripts for Saying ‘No’ Without Guilt
You don’t owe anyone an explanation—just these 3 words:
Let’s break down the 3 types of ‘no’ scripts you’ll master:
The Delayed ‘No’: Buy time to avoid knee-jerk ‘yeses.’
Example: ‘Let me check my schedule and get back to you.’
The Assertive ‘No’: Clear, kind, and unapologetic.
Example: ‘I can’t take that on right now.’
The Compromise ‘No’: Offer an alternative that honors your limits.
Example: ‘I can’t lend money, but I’d love to help you brainstorm solutions.’
Why These Work:
They’re short and repeatable (no mental gymnastics!).
They focus on your capacity, not the other person’s worth.
They leave no room for negotiation (no J.A.D.E.—Justify, Argue, Defend, Explain).
Your workbook today turns these scripts into second nature.

Day 9
Assignment Notice
Your tool today is to download and complete the No-Guilt Phrasebook.
For the next week, you’ll:
Pick 2 scripts that resonate (e.g., ‘I’m not available’ or ‘That doesn’t work for me’).
Role-play them in low-stakes situations (e.g., declining a spam call).
Track wins in your workbook (e.g., ‘Said no to extra work—no apology!’).
This isn’t about becoming rigid—it’s about reclaiming choice. You might feel guilty at first… and that’s okay. Guilt is just growing pains.
Tomorrow, we’ll tackle manipulation tactics. But today, celebrate this: Every ‘no’ is a ‘yes’ to your worth.
